Feeley-Liu Lab awarded Orthoregeneration Network Pilot Grant to study hydrogel-based delivery of stem cells for rotator cuff therapies

Michael Davies, MD, of the Feeley-Liu Lab, in collaboration with the Healy Lab at UC Berkeley, has been awarded a Pilot Grant from the Orthoregeneration Network. The grant will investigate the use of a hyaluronic acid-based hydrogel, developed by the Healy Lab, as a delivery method for pro-myogenic stem cells to treat rotator cuff muscle degeneration. "We hope that this collaboration will bring us one step closer to the development of a highly translational therapy for our patients with poor muscle quality in the setting of rotator cuff tears," said Dr. Davies.
